Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, completed his internship at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, and practiced emergency medicine in the United Kingdom. He later completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he served as Chief Resident and was honored with the Chairman’s Award for outstanding clinical and academic performance.

Dr. Aviva Chaya Hopkins is a board-certified internist and rheumatologist with a special focus on caring for patients with complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and spondyloarthritis.
Dr. Hopkins received her undergraduate education at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York and completed medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her training in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was selected for the highly competitive American Board of Internal Medicine Research Pathway in Rheumatology.
For more than a decade, Dr. Hopkins built a loyal following of patients in Fort Lauderdale, known for her attentive, compassionate, and deeply thoughtful approach to care. Many of her patients seek her out after years of fragmented or rushed medical visits, particularly when symptoms are complex, overlapping, or difficult to neatly categorize.
