Dr. Aviva Hopkins
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology
Castle Connolly “Top Doctor”
Dr. Aviva Chaya Hopkins is a board-certified internist and rheumatologist with a special focus on caring for patients with complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and spondyloarthritis.
Dr. Hopkins received her undergraduate education at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York and completed medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her training in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was selected for the highly competitive American Board of Internal Medicine Research Pathway in Rheumatology.
For more than a decade, Dr. Hopkins built a loyal following of patients in Fort Lauderdale, known for her attentive, compassionate, and deeply thoughtful approach to care. Many of her patients seek her out after years of fragmented or rushed medical visits, particularly when symptoms are complex, overlapping, or difficult to neatly categorize.
In her concierge practice, Dr. Hopkins offers a highly personalized model of care that emphasizes time, access, and clinical judgment. She takes the time to understand the full picture, including medical history, lifestyle, goals, and concerns, before making recommendations. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine, guided by careful risk-benefit analysis and a commitment to avoiding unnecessary testing or treatment.
Dr. Hopkins integrates modern therapies with lifestyle-based strategies such as nutrition, physical activity, and stress management when appropriate, tailoring each plan to the individual rather than relying on one-size-fits-all protocols. She believes that the best outcomes come from a strong physician-patient partnership, clear communication, and shared decision-making.
Above all, Dr. Hopkins treats each patient as she would a member of her own family, listening carefully, thinking critically, and providing guidance that is both medically sound and personally meaningful.
